Professor Şansın Tüzün, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine. She serves as the Head of the Council for Continuing Medical Education at the same university and is a board member of the Sports and Exercise Medicine working group of the Turkish Society of PM&R. Professor Tüzün is the founding member and president of the Turkish Osteoporosis Society, as well as the Secretary-General of the Osteoporosis Patient Society of Turkey. She is also a Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) mentor and National FLS Coordinator, contributing to the implementation of Turkish data in the FRAX tool. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO), and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and ESCEO. Professor Tüzün has numerous national and international publications, particularly focusing on musculoskeletal diseases. She has received recognition for her achievements, including the IOF President’s Award and the ESCEO Medal of Excellence.
